Early Learning Teacher-Full-time Concordia Place has an opening for an Early Learning Teacher. This is a full-time teaching position working in our 2 year-old classroom. We use the Teaching Strategies Gold Curriculum and follow the Illinois Early Leaning Standards Teachers work with assistant teachers to develop weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline. We use teacher-directed and child-initiated activities that build both mental and motor abilities, teach social skills, encourage positive self-images and develop self-discipline. In addition, learning through play along with parent involvement activities are keystones to the program.
Teachers must have at minimum an Associate’s Degree but a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. This is a year-round position. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Child Care Worker-Part-time
Concordia Place currently has an opening for a Child Care Worker working from 2:30-6:00 p.m. in our after school program with an opportunity to work temporary full-time during our summer camp. Child Care Workers/teacher assistants assist planning activities for the group and help provide a warm, nurturing environment for children to grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. Responsibilities include: supervise and ensure safety of the children at all times; interact, initiate and encourage the children in activities during the day; and help children control behavior using a positive, appropriate, consistent technique. This position also provides an opportunity to work temporary full-time in our summer camp. At a minimum, Teacher Assistants must have a High School Diploma and 9 semester hours of Early Childhood Education or Child Development. SubstituteTeacher
Concordia Place has openings for a substitute Teachers to work on an as needed basis. Center hours are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Substitutes need to be available on short notice for day to day or short term assignments.
Teacher substitutes assist planning activities for the group and help provide a warm, nurturing environment for children to grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. Responsibilities of Teacher Assistants include: supervise and ensure safety of the children at all times; interact, initiate and encourage the children in activities during the day; and help children control behavior using a positive, appropriate, consistent technique.
At a minimum, Substitute Teachers must have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a minimum of 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or child development. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus. Salary
