Guiding your child’s early experiences toward a lifelong love of learning.

Our Early Learning program encourages your child’s natural curiosity in a nurturing and active learning environment. Our caring teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking with your child to instill trust and provide a healthy learning setting for movement, exploration and play.

The Early Learning program is geared to the specific developmental milestones of young children ages 6 weeks (infants) to two years of age, these include grasping, walking, moving from parallel to interactive play, developing language, and socialization skills. Our developmentally appropriate activities allow each child to develop at his or her own pace and promote confidence in a child's ability to explore the world around them.

Teachers work closely with parents to ensure a healthy balance so that Concordia Place is your child’s second home and not just daycare. Working together, especially when children are making great developmental strides, ensures a smoother transition during these times of rapid growth. Our Assistant Directors and teachers evaluate each child’s progress to recognize their individual academic and social needs.

Our warm and inviting classrooms are filled with toys and books that encourage each child’s academic, social-emotional growth and are always open for imaginary play. Circle time incorporates stories and songs that focus on language skills and social growth. Teachers play interactive games which develop gross motor skills and they create art together to develop fine motor skills. All these daily activities are done in a consistent structure that young children crave.

Continuity of Relationships

A unique component of the Early Learning program is the practice of continuity of relationships. Our policy supports the idea that each child stays with the same team of teachers as infants to age two. Children then move into a preschool classroom for students ages three to five with a different team of teachers. This continuity creates close bonds among children, teachers and parents, reinforcing that stable relationships are essential to learning. Please note Infants and Toddlers are only served at the Concordia On Whipple and at our Ravenswood location Concordia Day.
