Infants

6 weeks - 15 months

We encourage your child’s natural curiosity in a nurturing and active learning environment. Our caring teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking with your child to instill trust and provide a healthy learning setting for movement, exploration and play.

Our program focuses on developmental milestones which include grasping, walking, moving from parallel to interactive play, developing language and literacy, socialization skills, Spanish enrichment, and the arts. Developmentally appropriate activities allow children to progress at their ideal pace and promote confidence in their ability to explore the world around them.

Infant Schedule

For infants, the daily schedule is tailored around each child’s individual schedule. Each infant’s specific rhythms of eating, sleeping and exploring are specific to his or her own needs. Bottle feeding is individualized based on the child’s needs and input from parents. Mothers who are nursing are welcome at the centers at any time to feed their babies.

Nutrition

Meals are an important part of the day for any growing child. We serve organic lunches and healthy snacks so your children are ready to learn throughout the day.

Why early learning?

Babies are born learning. Very young children are learning through play, the active exploration of their environment, and, most importantly, through interactions with the significant adults in their lives.

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.”

O. Fred Donaldson, Ph.D and Author

Recent research confirms that the first five years are particularly important for the development of the child’s brain, and the first three years are the most critical in shaping the child’s brain architecture. Early experiences provide the base for the brain’s organizational development and functioning throughout life. They have a direct impact on how children develop learning skills as well as social and emotional abilities.

The children, even in the infant room, are introduced to many different art projects and experiences. The teachers work each day to develop the child's physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
